This large fruit bowl is hand carved from local Norfolk Holly, this end grain bowl has naturally cracked and been repaired with several of Oak joints. The piece celebrates the natural cracking of the wood in the drying process and the Boro like repair work required to make this bowl viable. Now fully seasoned the bowl is stable and has been sealed by Shou Sugi Ban and beeswax making it food safe.
